In December 2001, I arrived in London with one pair of trousers, two shirts, one pair of shoes and a camera. I slept on a living-room floor in Mile End.

I cleaned offices, worked construction, security and care, studied, built businesses and eventually became an educator, mentor and school governor.

London gave me an opportunity. Now I want to help make sure opportunity reaches every part of this city.
